Hupa
"The Hupa people are from northern California. Hats and caps are the most elaborately woven examples of basketry from this area. A common characteristic of basketry in this region is the plain twined foundation made of willow shoots, conifer roots and other material. The baskets are then decorated with half-twist or full-twist overlay typically using colors of white, black, red, and yellow. The Hupa prefer horizontally branded designs."
